Drage is a picturesque and peaceful Dalmatian village located in the central part of the Croatian Adriatic coast. Drage is part of the municipality of Pakoštane, located about 10 km from Biograd na Moru, and positioned exactly between two large Dalmatian centers, Zadar and Šibenik, each about 35 km away. The village is unique and particularly attractive due to its location between the sea and Lake Vrana, which is also a nature park.
Drage got its name from the numerous bays, or "drage," on both the sea and lake shores. Particularly beautiful is Dugovača Bay, where on one side there is a well-maintained local harbor, and on the other side, a modern marina is being completed. In Porat Bay, there is a well-maintained municipal beach, and worth mentioning are also the bays Žakanj, Dolaška draga, and Lučica, as well as the bays Mala and Vela Poškaljna, which connect Drage with Pakoštane, the municipal center, and are also very popular natural beaches.
In front of Drage, there are numerous smaller islands, opposite Dugovača Bay are the islands of Žainac Veli and Žainac Mali, and just two nautical miles in front of Drage is the island of Vrgada with its archipelago. This part of Dalmatia, to which Drage belongs, is considered its most beautiful part due to the numerous smaller islands.
Drage has just under 1,000 residents, making it one of the smaller Dalmatian villages. Despite its size, Drage has complete communal infrastructure, including a sewage network, which is rare on our coast. The water supply system works excellently. Furthermore, the entire high voltage is underground, and the substations are interconnected in a loop, so the electrical network has no disruptions. Additionally, Drage is interconnected with fiber optic cable, and the population has access to a broadband internet connection. In the coming period, numerous amenities on the Drage waterfront will be arranged and equipped, intended for the local population, with a tourist purpose.
